Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Eilat - Jerusalem. Early morning departure, traveling north along the Rift Valley to Masada (approx 2½ hour drive). Ascend Masada - Israel's foremost archaeological park, via cable car. A thorough visit gives insight to the rituals, politics and culture of the people who inhabited this desert fortress. Stop at a spa on the shores of the Dead Sea - lowest point on earth - to immerse yourself in the mineral rich water. Continue north passing by Ein Gedi & the Qumeran Caves - discovery place of the Dead Sea scrolls & then through the Judean Hills to Jerusalem. Drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity (subject to Palestinian authority). Check into hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Jerusalem - Galillee. After breakfast, drive to the mountain of Olives, for a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Descend to Gethsemane crossing the biblical Kidron Valley and up to the walled town. Enter the Old City, starting at the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest shrine. Cross the Temple Mount (3rd holiest shrine of the Moslem World). Walk along Via Dolorosa and the Christian quarter to the Holy Sepulchre. Continue along the Cardo - main street of Jerusalem during the Byzantine period. Climb Mt Zion to the Room of the Last Supper and 'King David's' tomb. Travel northwest to the shores of the Mediterranean to visit Caesarea Maritima, Herod the Great's masterpiece (time permitting). Drive northeast via Megiddo (Armageddon) to hotel in the Galillee area. Check into hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Galillee - Eilat. After breakfast, drive through the Lower Galillee to Nazareth for a visit to the Church of Annunciation and on to the village of Kana, where Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine. Continue on to visit the major sites around the shores of the Sea of Galillee. Tabgha - traditional site of the miracle of "The Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fish".
Church of Primacy - where Jesus appointed Peter as his successor. Capernaum - classical Jewish fisherman's village during the time of Jesus, known as 'his town". Return to Eilat, to Arava border at approx. 19:00 for departure to Jordan. Continue to Taba border for departure to Egypt.
