After breakfast you will make a long distance dugout canoe experienced to the local medical centre Stoelmans Island for short sightseeing and here after we will continue the trip to the amazing Granholo rapids where we will walk over this natural dam to reach another dugout canoe to continue the trip to the Ndjuka Maroon village Dritabiki for one overnight in Hammocks with mosquito nets, you may wonder how the professional outboard driver take you between underwater road blocks and spectacular rapids (sula's) such as: Mambari, Singatete and Poligoedoe. Overnight Dritabiki, the residence of the Upper chief of the Ndjuka Maroon. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Dritabiki - Apetina

In the morning we depart from Drietabiki to the Amer Indian village Apetina for two days. On the way, we will make several stops; to visit villages, have lunch and go for a swim. According to the tradition we stop at Granborie, the southernmost Maroon village, to inform the village chief about the purpose of our trip. By korjaal we sail further through the Granborie sula, where an enormous trial of strength between water and rocks takes place. Depending on the water level our combined forces need to drag the boat trough the sula to be able to continue our trip. After passing several rapids we arrive at the Indian village Apetina (known by the Maroon as Kamalua sula). Apetina lies on a low hill along the banks of Tapanahony River and in this village approximately 250 Wayana Indians live in typical huts on piles. Overnight stay is in a simple hammock camp in Apetina. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5 & 6: Apetina - Tebu

During these two days, we meet the Indians who live along the Tapanahony River, also known as the natives. The native guides show us how the people of the village live and how tasks are divided. Furthermore, there is a major hike on the program. During this hike we climb the 347-metres-high barren rock mountain called Tebutop. After this very heavy and strenuous climb the reward is a splendid view of the jungle and the river. While staying in Apetina you can enjoy a lovely swim in the Kamalua sula (Rapid), and of course enjoy the impressive nature that surrounds you. Overnight stay is in Apetina. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Apetina - Drietabiki

Today is the last day at the Wayana Indians. Before they take leave of us, they will offer souvenirs and handicrafts (made of seeds, wood and other materials from the forest). We sail back via the same route as we arrived on the Tapanahony River to Drietabiki. Overnight stay is in Drietabiki.

Day 8: Drietabiki – Paramaribo

Our final activity on the program is a walk to the fascinating Granholo falls and Foetoe pasie. Depending on the time available before taking off, we will visit the Granman of the Ndjuka Maroon. Return to Zorg en Hoop in Paramaribo by airplane.
