Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart for Dakar, capital of Senegal. Morning arrival at Dakar airport. Arrival assistance and transfer to your hotel of choice.
Day 2: Dakar city tour. Today is your first contact with Dakar and its inhabitants. Shop until you drop. Visit all points of interest. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 3: Dakar Goree Island
Just twenty minutes from Dakar port, our ferryboat will arrive at Goree, the original Slave Island of the African West Coast. For three centuries, Goree was the center of the worldwide slave trade involving over 20 million persons of African origin. The tour guide will take us into the old slave house museum. Lunch at the restaurant at the pier. A Holy hour at the chapel on this island to reflect on « What We have seen and Heard ». After visiting some of the islanders, we will return to Dakar to enjoy the rest of our day at leisure. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 4: Dakar / Sine Saloum via Pink Lake
Day leisure. Enjoy the beach and your own transactions. Drive to the Pink Lake for an exciting trip using a 4 wheels drive to discover people harvesting salt from the lake. Then reach the Fulani village to interact with people before continuing on the sand dunes. After lunch continuation to Kaolack the nuts bassin or Toubacouta. Dinner and overnight. Day 5: Sine Saloum / Gambia
Morning mass at the hotel. Today, we depart for ‘the tiny country of Gambia, arriving in time for lunch. We enjoy a tour of the Island City of Banjul, famous for its craft markets where price negotiation is the game of every day life. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6: Gambia. Full day tour to Abuko, Brikama and Lamin Lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Gambia. Day free to enjoy the beach and markets. Breakfast and dinner. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Banjul / Saly Resort by road. Early morning departure from hotel for Juffureh, Saly and the Pink Lake Lodge. A stop for lunch then continuation to Saly. Diner and overnight. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Saly Rerort / Joal Fadiouth
Morning Drive to Joal Fadiouth located 35 km down. Joal is the birthplace of former President Leopold Sedar Senghor. Take a boat to visit the shell cemetery, the millet Granaries and the big Church in the middle of Fadiouth village. You will return and continue to Saly for relaxation and last minutes shopping.
Day 10: Saly Rerort. Day relax for your own after your buffet breakfast. Departure to the airport for your return flight back home.
