Expedition style - we load our kayaks and paddle from camp to camp circumnavigating the entire island. Espiritu Santo offers vivid contrasts in scenery; while the west coast is studded with some of the most spectacular white, sandy bays you can imagine, the east coast has enormous towering cliffs, bizarre rock formations and alluring sea caves. After paddling approximately 3-4 hours each day we will have plenty of time to enjoy great snorkeling, to swim with sea lion pups, hike intriguing volcanic arroyos, bathe in the glorious Baja sun, watch huge manta rays surge up out of the water, admire playful dolphins, explore hidden inland lagoons, Isla Espiritu Santo really is paddling in paradise - just ask anyone that has been there!
Your Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in La Paz, check into your hotel room and at 9.00pm meet your guides for a trip briefing.
Day 2 – Transfer to Espiritu Santo Island by high speed motor boat. Introduction to kayaks and gear followed by guide safety session. First day sea-kayaking - begin to discover spectacular volcanic cliffs, arrive at the first of many beautiful beaches - first snorkel of the week! Set camp. Includes: (B) (L) (D)
Day 3 – Paddle up west side of island, stopping to snorkel on a coral reef. Explore hidden inland lagoon or hike up to the top of the cliffs for a breath-taking view of 3 off-shore islands. Camp on a new beach. Includes: (B) (L) (D)
Day 4 – Continue voyage to the end of the island, stopping off to take a refreshing well water shower, hike up a wonderful canyon to discover fascinating rock formations. Continue sea-kayaking over to Isla Partida and set base camp for two days in the spectacular bay of Ensenada Grande. Includes: (B) (L) (D)
Day 5 – Lay over day - time to really relax as we stay in the same camp!! Today we receive our fresh provisions and then take a motor boat out to the famous sea lion colony, Los Islotes. There are over 200 sea lions and you will have the incredible experience to actually swim among the sea lion pups. A water proof camera is highly recommended! Includes: (B) (L) (D)
Day 6 – Continue around the north end of the island and our first paddle on the east coast - subject to wind conditions. A dramatic change in scenery, spectacular towering cliffs with Ospreys circling above. We will paddle through the natural cut between Espiritu Santo to make camp in the Partida - an unbelievably beautiful setting with high cliffs enclosing the bay and natural turquoise swimming pool! Day 7 – A remarkable paddle with the cliffs rising up to a high point of 2000ft. Superb colors make this a particularly enjoyable paddle in the early morning. There are also two natural caves to explore and impressive stack rocks. In the afternoon we arrive at our favorite camp spot ~ a magnificent 2 mile stretch of superb sweeping white sand. Day 8 – Return to La Paz. Showers and a little time to buy presents before a Farewell Dinner together. Retire to your comfortable hotel/guesthouse. Includes: (B) (L) (D)

- Single and/or double kayaks;
