The Agawa Canyon Base Camp Adventure is designed for the active traveller who is looking for a multi-activity adventure in the Canyon itself. This all inclusive, 4 day guided package includes a full itinerary of activities including hiking the canyon trails, canoeing the Agawa River and Black Beaver Lake. Travellers will board Algoma Central Railway's Passenger Service for a four hour rail excursion through some of the most spectacular scenery in Northern Ontario. Plan for some dramatic excursions where we'll hike the park trails, visit waterfalls, and venture to the top of the canyon walls. Wildlife viewing and Brook Trout fishing will be at a premium.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
6:30-7:30 am - breakfast at hotel.
8:30 am - shuttle pick-up at hotel to Algoma Central Railway Station.
9:20 am - train departs from Sault Ste. Marie.
Packed lunch served on train.
1:20 pm - after a four hour train ride through the spectacular Northern Ontario wilderness we arrive at our base camp and spend the afternoon fishing, swimming and taking in the view.

Day 2:
Morning - hike to Agawa Canyon Park to explore its trails and waterfalls.
Afternoon - hike the rope and ladder system up to Black Beaver Lake on the top of the canyon walls to swim, fish and explore the trails around the lake.

Day 3:
We replace hiking boots with paddles for a canoe trip on the Agawa River.

Day 4:
Morning - time for swimming, fishing and last minute photography at the canyon.
After lunch we pack up and prepare for our 2:00 pm train pick-up at the Agawa Canyon park.
6:00 pm - train arrives back at Sault Ste. Marie.
