Have you visited an island lately? Islands by their very nature enchant and mystify. Journey with us and explore two remote North Shore island archipelagos by sea kayak. It is a place remote, wild and enchanting. In amongst the protection of the islands, you'll feel you have escaped to a Northern Ontario lake far removed from the power and unpredictability of Lake Superior.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
6:30 to 7:30 am - breakfast at hotel.
8:00 am - shuttle pick-up at hotel.
2 hour shuttle from Sault Ste. Marie to Wawa, Ontario Canada.
1 hour charter flight on a float plane from Wawa to Rossport.

Day 2:
After an overnight stay in picturesque Rossport we will put in our kayaks at the Rossport Harbour.

Day 3:
We spend the morning practicing our paddling skills and then begin to meader around the Rossport Islands after lunch.

Day 4:
We paddle 4-6 hours per day with lots of time for exploring, hiking, photography, swimming, fishing or just relaxing around the campsite.
We will explore the Battle Island Lighthouse and the wreck of the Gunilda.

Day 5:
Continue paddling to Terrace Bay at the mouth of the Aguasabon River and then onto the Slate Islands.

Day 6:
Formed from a meteorite impact, this island group is home to Woodland Caribou and snowshoe hare. It is a place remote, wild and enchanting and we are exploring it in the best way possible - by sea kayak.

Day 7:
Tug boat shuttle from the Pukaskwa River to the Michipicoten River. Approximate pick-up at noon.
Return van shuttle to Sault Ste. Marie.
