There is nothing more revered and feared by the Chinese than this incredible river that brings life and death equally to them. The highlight of traversing down the river will be the three gorges: Xiling, Wuxia and Qutangxia. All three gorges are breathtakingly beautiful. The third gorge is the most fantastic one for as the river boat traverses through the narrow passage, one feels that one could almost touch the rock... This requires great concentration and a lot of experience to steer through this narrow gap but the boats that cruise on the Yangtse River have very experienced captains who have been sailing this route for countless years, continuing the work of their forefathers. Visit Fengdu. With over 700 temples constructed on Mingshan Hill, many containing statues of ghosts and devils, it is easy to see how the city acquired the name "Ghost City".
