Egypt Revisited offers a great experience for the return visitor to Egypt. It is offered 2 times each year, with departures on October 14, 2001 and February 10, 2002. This all inclusive tour visits most of the major sites as well as a large number of lesser known locations not included in first time tours. You will be accompanied throughout your stay by a degreed Egytologist as your guide.

* Itinerary

- Day 1

Depart form New York for Cairo on your own. Internation air is available at extra cost.

- Day 2

Arrive in Cairo and Transfer to the historic 5 star Mena House hotel located at the base of the pyramids.

- Day 3

Esplore the Giza Plateau for the entire day, including the pyramid of Khufu and his subsidiary pyramids as well as several mastaba tombs, the Sphinx and Valley Temple of Khafre. After lunch we will visit Abusir to see the 5th dynasty pyramids. If time permits we will also pay a visit to the Old Kingdom Sun Temple located nearby.

- Day 4

Today we head to Dashur to visit the Red and Bent pyramids. Then of to Meidum and the Collapsed Pyramid. We will continue our drive to the Faiyum before returning to our hotel.

- Day 5

We drive to the delta today to visit the ancient capital of Tannis, under the Pharaohs of the 21st and 22nd dynasties.

- Day 6

Fly to Abu Simbel and board our Lake Nassar Cruise boat. You will be left to explore the rock cut temples of Rameses II for teh remainder of the day.

- Day 7

We will arise early to see the sun rise on these ancient temples,after which we begin our sail toward Aswan. On teh way we will stop at the temples of Amada and el Derr.

- Day 8

Our boat stops to visit the temples of Wadi Sabura and Dakka. We arrive at Aswan late in the evening.

- Day 9

The Temple of Kalabsha is teh largest free standing temple on Lake Nassar. After we disembark we'll take a camel ride to St Simon monastery followed by a visit to the "other" ancient granite quarry with its statue of Rameses. In the evening we will fly to Luxor and check into the new wing of the Winter Palace hotel.

- Day 10

Today will be spent visiting the temple of Seti at Abydos and the temple of Hathor at Dendara one of teh best preserved in all Egypt. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

- Day 11

Travel to the West Bank where we will visit the Valley of the Kings and the Western Valley. we will also explore several of the nobles tombs and the little seen Temple of Seti I.

- Day 12

The entire morning will be spent at Karnak with an emphasis on several of the more out or the way and less visited sites. In the afternoon we will fly to Cairo adn transfer to the Hilton Hotel, downtown.

- Day 13

The entire day will be spent in the Cairo Museum researching 3000 years of Egyptian History. In the evening a visit to the Khan el Khalili Bazzar will complete the day.

Our last day in Egypt is free.

Return to New York and home.
