NORTHEAST BRAZIL
Internationally known for its beautiful beaches and sand dunes, the Brazilian Northeast is a region with its own identity, that holds many strange secrets for the discerning tourist in its little-known interior. We are a result of a mixture of many races and cultures ... a sincere smile, primitive fishing rafts, "forró" (For All) dancing, accordion music, leather goods, lace handicrafts, hammocks, and other goods which are characteristic of the region. Also, unique are the culinary delights made of flour, tapioca, brown sugar and coconut sweets, sun-dried beef, lobsters, crabs, coconuts, cashew nuts and regional fruits. Cold, pollution, traffic, stress ... you'll quickly forget!
Natal, located in the center of the Northeast coast, is the ideal starting point for those who want to get to know this region. Genipabu, Pipa, Fernando de Noronha, João Pessoa, Recife, Olinda and Fortaleza are all accessable from this city. The beaches of white and warm sands are synonymous with "carefree" and "recreation".
Known as "the city of sun", Natal offers the most for tourists in the northeast. The temperature is comfortable... an average of 26º C... with a constant breeze and sunny days. According to NASA, the air here is considered to be the most pure in the Americas.
Visit the beaches along the south coast, and see the "Largest Cashew Tree in the World", take a dip in the natural pools of Pirangi, enjoy dolphin-watching at Tabatinga beach, "giboiando" (relaxing) in the lagoons of Camurupim, riding jet-skis at Arituba Lake and WOW, if you're still alive, exploring the cave of Pedra Ôca (The Hollow Rock).
Take one of our Land Rover tours along the northern coastline until you reach Cabo de São Roque (Cape of Saint Roque), the part of Brazil closest to Africa. Or go all the way up to the State of Maranhao.
In Natal we have the Nordeaste Eco-Turismo Cooperative, operated by Andetur Brasil Ltda., providing escorted ecological and cultural tours. We also have Land Rovers with guides specializing in excursions to archeological and paleothological sites, national parks, colonial architecture, deserted beaches and Northeast Brazilian culture.
We also have the Villa do Sol, and dozens of other small 'pousadas', bed and breakfasts located directly on a few minutes from the beach.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive in either Natal or Fortaleza. You will be met at the airport by a courteous English speaking guide that will take you to your pousada or hotel. This first evening you will probably just relax, have a nice meal, and get accustomed to the leisure life style.
In Brazil, breakfast is included at all pousadas or hotels. Although, in some, they have other meals served .. most of our clients prefer to eat out on the road .. a culinary adventure in itself.

Day 2:
Depending on your tour preferences, you will be met early at your hotel by your guide or driver.
There are so many options that we won't begin to descibe them. All of are tours are customized for the individual. Included are beach tour options, buggy rides, horse back riding, Brazilian rodeos (vaquejada), eco-tours, sight-seeing, local markets, etc. At night .. Party time ... bar hopping, dancing, shows, festivals, or just sitting around in a barraca on the beach meeting the local people. The actual tours may be from 1 day to 7 days.

Day 7:
DAY 7 - 14 - WE'll ASSUME THIS IS YOUR LAST DAY! BUT DEPENDING ON THE TOUR SELECTED, IT MAY BE EXTENDED.
Depending on your tour preferences, you will be met early at your hotel by your guide or driver.
On the last day of any of the tours, we will take you around to do your final purchases, and then we'll have a nice relaxed lunch in one of the areas best resturants.
In the late afternoon, you will be transported to the airport to start your way home.

Airfare is included in the tour price.
All of our tour options are fully customized for the client. We furnish airfare as part of the 'pacote'. Actual costs depend on the hotel or pousada chosen .. the optional tours and excursions .. and your point of origin.
Tours are based on the amount of passengers in the vehicles. The car (Land Rover) cost +/- US$ 400 per day (1-6 passengers) which includes accomodations and meals. Pousadas cost on the average of US$ 50 per night .. varies. Ask us to quote for complete custom package and itineraries.
