Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to the CORINTH CANAL (brief stop). Proceed to MYCENAE, visit the remains of the ancient city, including the Lioness Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon and the Palace. Then through ARGOS on to NAUPLIA. After lunch visit EPIDAURUS and it's theatre, famous for it's remarkable acoustics. Return to NAUPLIA for dinner and overnight. AMALIA NAUPLIA HOTEL

Day 2:
Drive through the central Peloponnese area, passing the cities of TRIPOLIS, SPARTA, MYSTRA (visit), MT. AYGETOS, KALAMATA, and KALO NERO. Arrive in OLYMPIA. Dinner and overnight. AMALIA OLYMPIA HOTEL

Day 3:
Visit the archaeological site and the Museum of OLYMPIA. Then drive via PATRAS to RION, where you cross by car-ferry to ANTIRION and driving through NAFPAKTOS, arrive in DELPHI. Dinner and overnight. AMALIA DELPHI HOTEL

Day 4:
Visit the archaeogical site and the Museum of DELPHI. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight. AMALIA DELPHI HOTEL

Day 5:
Drive through the central Greece towns of AMPHISSA, LAMIA, & TRIKALA to KALAMBAKA. Then visit the breathtaking METEORA. Dinner and overnight in KALAMBAKA. AMALIA KALAMBAKA

Day 6:
Drive through TRIKALA & LARISSA to the famous, sacred Macedonian town of DION (visit). Then continue to THESSALONIKI, the largest town in Northern Greece, and visit the Museum with the famous "Vergina Treasures". Followed by a sightseeing tour of the city. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7:
Morning drive through AMPHIPOLIS to PHILIPPI (visit). Then on to KAVALA. In the afternoon return to THESSALONKIKI. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Morning drive to PELLA, Alexander the Great's capital (visit). Continue to VERGINA to visit the tomb of King Philip (Alexander's father). Then on to LEFKADIA where you visit the excavations. Return to THESSALONIKI via VERIA. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9:
Start the return drive to Athens, through the TEMPI VALLEY, LARISSA, LAMIA, & THERMOPYLAE (famous for the ancient battle that took place here between Leonidas and his 300 Spartans against the "Great Army" of Persians led by Xerxes), KAMENA VOURLA to ATHENS.
