Designed for the very adventurous duo, this trip is for those who want an intense wildlife and village experience and want to travel in an eco friendly, creature comfort style. It includes an active wildlife safari, including gorilla trekking. Then, you'll venture to two different Iganga villages and experience and have an amazing, authentic cultural experience. (One of the villages places a gigantic xylophone heard for miles!) See the Best of East Africa that 99% of travelers miss so discover by doing!
Your introduction to Uganda begins with a trek deep into Bwindi’s Impenetrable Forest to search for endangered Mountain Gorillas. Next, tour Queen Elizabeth National Park, discovering a vast array of animals, including lions, elephants, warthog and buffalo. Take a boat launch through the Kazinga Channel, a narrow river abundant with hippos, elephants and bird life, and hike through the swamps of Kibale Forest, home to 11 species of primates. At the end of each day’s nature exploration, relax in luxurious tented camps and toast the dramatic African sunset.
Two Iganga villages will then be your home for the next few days. The first village, known for the beautiful mats and baskets made by a highly skilled women’s group, welcomes guests with a spirit of true cultural exchange as you pass the day at a “village pace” while learning basic weaving skills. Spend the night either with a local family or in our luxury mobile camp.
The second Iganga village is dramatically different with its gigantic village xylophone, played by eight people at once. Audible for miles, the xylophone is so large that dancers can dance atop its keys. As honored guests, you’ll learn to cook their dishes and, yes, play their xylophone!
Looking for something really unique? Following in the footsteps of the company’s President, participate in your own traditional Ugandan wedding and feast, reaffirmation of vows or anniversary celebration with music, dancing and timeless village traditions you will never forget.
