We have structured a one week trip which features rivers accessible by road from Vientiane. The rivers have brisk currents, and are well suited for our paddle raft, and our single-person inflatable kayaks. The scenery is limestone karst mountains and verdant forests, similar to Thailand's mountains, but taller, more vast, and more majestic. Depending on local conditions at the time, we will overnight in river villages or in guesthouses. Lao is an undeveloped country only recently drawing tourists and flexibility is required for transportation and accommodation standards.
This trip will begin in and return to Vientiane, a natural hub for handicraft shopping and dining in the many excellent restaurants. Not to be missed is a stroll on the floodwall next to the Mekong. Have a relaxing drink and snack while the sun goes down, dropping into the river as it bends westward in front of us. We really enjoy the soothing atmosphere.

Dinner on the Mekong.

Visit recently found jungle Temple.
Paddle the Nam Song river.
Overnight in Vang Vieng

Paddle to village and stay overnight in guesthouse.

We don't go into too much detail because we want to protect the fragile Lao culture and we don't want mass tourism to invade these precious villages. We respect all Laotian values.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
The two person price is US$1,350 per person. For trips with 3 or more persons, the price is US$1,050.
This doesn't include airfare, but it does include everything once the trip starts including accommodations and all transfers.
