Few train journeys can approach the mystique of the Transsiberian. On our way we will see a great variety of scenery, architecture and lifestyles. This tour is available in several versions, each covering a different combination of Transsiberian routes and locations. Your Itinerary

Day 1:
Evening arrival in Vladivostok, the fascinating port city in the Russian Far East. You will find Vladivostok a city with much to see and much to do. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2:
Full day in Vladivostok begins with a sightseeing tour of this city. We will enjoy views of the city and the Golden Horn harbor, visit landmarks. After lunch - an afternoon boat tour of the Golden Horn harbor, a stop to view a typical Russian residence. A theater performance in the evening (if available.) At 12:05 p.m. we depart from Vladivstok on the Trans-Siberian Express.

Day 3:
Morning arrival in Khabarovsk, transfer to the Intourist hotel above the Amur River. City tour. Cruise on the Amur River after lunch, visit to the regional art gallery and a highly regarded regional museum. A concert later in the day.

Day 4:
Tour of a unique animal rehabilitation center to see Amur tigers, bears, leopards recovering from injuries. Walk in the taiga. A musical event in the evening if available.

Day 5:
After breakfast we depart to Irkutsk, for a day of spectacular views of passing terrain. Frequent stops provide to photograph images of this journey and buy souvenirs and snacks from local vendors.

Day 6:
On the train, more sights and passing cities and stops. Passing an old GULAG capm near Takhtomygda. We can stop for a day at Ulan Ude if you like.

Day 7:
Riding through a different yet stunning terrain, an opportunity to see purely Siberian architecture. In winter, on this day we pass the coldest place on the trip.

Day 8:
The train approaches Baikal Lake. Sights of the lake and mountains. The most impressive sights are in early fall. Late arrival in Irkutsk

Day 9:
City tour to see ancient wooden architecture, richly decorated with quaint hand-carved ornaments. After lunch we depart to lake Baikal which we had passed on the day before for unique food, sights and a cruise on the lake (available in spring through early fall).

Day 10:
Overnight at a Baikal hotel. Tour of the lake: the crystal clear water can't hide anything at 120 ft.

Day 11:
We depart from Baikal to Irkutsk. We visit the regional museum.

Day 12:
We depart from Irkutsk to resume our Trans-Siberian journey.

Day 13:
We cross the might Siberian rivers, notably the Yenissey. In its upper flow, it's just 1 km across. Passing Krasnoyarsk.

Day 14:
Morning arrival in Novosibirsk. City tour, visit to the Siberian Academy of Science and Space and Aviation Museum.

Day 15:
Passing some of the most flat, straight and high-speed stretches of the Trans-Siberian.

Day 16:
Dramatically different landscape as we approach the Ural Mountains.

Day 17:
We cross the boundary between Asia and Europe, and enter geographical Europe.

Day 18:
We cross the Volga, the biggest river in Europe.

Day 19:
Passing through the ancient towns of old Russia. Optional tours available at Yaroslavl (1010) and Sergiev Posad, where a tour of the St. Sergy Monastery is available. Afternoon arrival in Moscow, visits to museums, theaters and activities of your choice.

Departure to the country of your choice.
