Friday train from Paris, Madrid or Barcelona included along with Friday nights' hotel.
Saturday
We pick up our bikes on the French/Spanish border and spend our first three days biking the idyllic foothills of the French Pyrenees.

Sunday
Lots of choices today: a walled hill town, the valley of the Nive, the French Basque capital, Bayonne, as well as Biarritz are all part of today's route options.

Day 3:
Monday
Biarritz to Fuenterabbia. A morning to savor Biarritz, then loosely follow the coast down into Spain.

Day 4:
Tuesday
A "favorite hill" starts the day: imagine a tree-lined road looping slowly up, up through the woods. Views to forever and then a spectacular descent to a fishing village where we take a ferry shuttle to the outskirts of San Sebastian.

Day 5:
Wednesday
Along the Coast around San Sebastian. Tool around San Sebastian on our steeds, exploring the sentinel hills, the coast to the west, or just lounging around on the beach!

Day 6:
Thursday
We strike out again along the coast on a breathtakingly beautiful 3-day ride, our first goal (and home for two nights) is Gernika (Guernica in Castillian Spanish).

Friday
More choices today: Bormeo, the Basque coast's largest fishing port, cider farms, beautiful beaches, prehistoric cave paintings, and above all the extraordinary Basque social life!

Saturday
Gernika to Bilbao. Up and down the green hills to Bilbao, home to the already-famous Guggenheim Museum and center of the Basque social scene.
Tonight's lodging is included in Bilbao or aboard a train to help you towards your flight or ongoing project...
