Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive Casablanca. 2 Drive to Rabat. Visit the Royal Palace and the Andalusian gardens of Kasbah des Oudaias. 3 Visit Volubilis and the Islamic town of Moulay Idriss, continue to Fez. 4 A local guide will show us around the old quarter of the ancient imperial capital. 5 & 6 Continue south to Erfoud at the edge of the vast Sahara Desert. Following day, visit Erg Chebbi an area of beautiful sand dunes. 7 & 8 Drive to Todra Gorge, explore on foot. 9 Visit the classic mud built kasbahs of Ait-Benhaddou and the crumbling, yet still impressive Glaoui Kasbah at Telouet. 10 & 11 Drive to Imlil, where we commence our two-day trek through picturesque scenery and colorful villages of the High Atlas. 12 & 13 Short drive to Marrakesh, with its palaces, souks and mosques. Guided tour of old Marrakech by horse drawn carriage. Optional excursion to Essaouira. 14 Trip ends in Marrakech in the morning.
Trip Information:
Accommodation: 9 nights in hotels, 4 nights in traditional Berber tent/house.
Mode of Travel: Guerba expedition truck.
Group Size: min 6, max 18 plus crew.
Tour Style: Traveling by expedition truck with experienced leader, driver, campmaster, and occasional local guides. Everyone participates with the camp chores. The Atlas trek is accompanied by an experienced guide with porters.
