Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive Cairo. 2 Travel to Giza for visit to Great Pyramids and Sphinx. Continue to ancient city of Memphis and Step Pyramid at Saqqara. 3 Journey into the desert to see the Bend and Red Pyramids at Dashur. Then visit the Collapsed Pyramid at Maidum and teh oasis of Faiyum before returning to Cairo for the night. 4 Accompanied by an Egyptologist guide, morning visit to Egyptian Museum. Afternoon free, overnight sleeper train to Aswan. 5 & 6 Boat excursion to Philae, optional excursion to Abu Simbel, free time to explore. 7 Transfer to Nile cruise boat and commence river journey to Luxor. 8 & 9 Spend two days cruising along Nile. Stops along the way at temple of Sobek and Haroeris at Kom Ombo, and Edfu's Temple of Horus. At Luxor, time to explore markets. 10 Depart early morning by bus to west bank of Nile to visit funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. An Egyptologist will guide us through a number of the most important tombs. 11 Morning horse-drawn carriage ride to Luxor Temple, and extensive temple complex at Karnak. Overnight sleeper train to Cairo. 12 Free day for shopping in city's bazaars, sightseeing or relaxing. Sunset cruise on traditional Nile Felucca sailboat. 13 Tour ends after breakfast.
