Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart North America:
We depart our home city for the capital of Uzbekistan.
Day 2:
Depending on your departure city, an involuntary transit may be neccessary in either Europe or the Orient. If so, we will porvide one near the airport.
Day 3:
Arrive Tashkent:
Kush Kelibsiizlar -- welcome to Uzbekestan -- the land of the Great Moghuls. We are greeted the traditional way and transferred to our hotel.

Day 4:
Andijan:
Our Moghul history starts with a short flight to Ferghana -- the ancestral homeland of the Great Moghuls. We first visit Andijan -- the birthplace of Babur the first Moghul and se the hosue of Babur's Father were he lived as a child, the musuem and a typical Central Asian Market.

Day 5:
Ferghana:
Day tour to visit the traditioanl silk factory, which still prodices the designs from the moghul days, followed by the famour ceramics production of Ferghana Valley.

Day 6:
Tashkent:
Return flight to Tashkent followed by a tour of the capital to include the old town to see the madrassah of Kukelsash, Chorse Bazar and the Applied Arts Museun.

Day 7:
Bukhara:
A short flight brings us to the land fo Arabian Nights. At Bukhara we visist Lab-e-khauz, the madrassah of Divanbegi, Khanga Poi Kalon minaret and mosque and madrassahs of Aziz Khan and Ulughbek.

Day 8:
Bukhara
Full day visiting th e Ark Fortress, Balakhauz mosque, Ismail Samanid Mausoleum, Old walls of Bukhara, Chasma Ayub and Sitora-I-Mokhikhosa -- the summer residence of the former emir of Bukhara.

Day 9:
Shakre Sabz/Samarkand:
Today we take a countryside drive to teh city of Tamerlane who was Babur's ancestor. We visit the Palace ruins of Tamerlane, madrassahs and Mosques. Later proceed to the land of 1001 nights -- Samarkand.

Day 10:
Samarkand:
Set nicely in vicinity is the famous Registan Square ad the three beautiful madrassahs. We visit the mosque of Bibi Khanum and see the excellent mosiac of th epast at Shahi Zinda necroplis.

Day 11:
Lahore (Pakistan):
We drive to Tashkent to connect with our flight to Lahore -- the first capital of the Moghuls in the sub continent. We are welcomed the typical Pakistani way and transferred to our hotel.
Day 12:
Peshawar:
We spend the day visitin ghte jewel city of the Moghuls including the unique Lahore Fort to see the decelopment of th eMoghul architecture through different periods, the majestic Imperial mosque and the beautiful Shalimar gardens. Late evening we take a flight to Peshawar.

Day 13:
Peshawar:
Our morning tour takes us to the world famous Khyber Pass where we see the route the Moghuls (and Alexander) took as they entered this region. This is followed by a tour of the Central Asian city including the Museum and the exotic story tellers bazaar.

Day 14:
Islamabad:
Following the route of the Moghuls we take an interesting drive to visit the famous Wah Gardens build by the Moghuls followed before reaching Rawalpindi -- the older part of Islamabd. Evening a drive through the twin cities.

Day 15:
Amirtsar (India):
A short flight gets us to Lahore from where we head for Amritsar. As we enter the final homeland of th emoghuls, we are welcomed and taken on a tour of this holy city to include the majestic Golden Temple, the Durgiana and Jallingwala Temples.

Day 16:
Agra:
An interesting train rides gets us to Delhi from where we drive via Sikandra to Agra -- the city of the Taj Mahal.

Day 17:
Agra:
We first head for the immortal Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jehan in memory of his wifeMumtaz Mahal; Followed then by a cisit to Agra Fort, tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah and the city. Afternoon free to revisit the Taj or to explore the bazaars near the fort.

Day 18:
Varansi:
Our next stop is to the holy city of Varanasi situated on the sacred Ganges River. Tour Sarnath where Buddha recieved enlightenment, we visit temples and shrines, pass narraw streets filled with shops selling exotic spices and silks.

Day 19:
Lucknow:
At sunrise we take a boat cruise along the Ganges River where pilgrims converge for the ritual of immersion and prayer. We tour the city and visit houses where the famous Banarasi silk is cultivated. Later we fly to Lucknow -- the famous Moghul entertainment hideout.

Day 20:
Th eland of th Nawabs of Avadh, Lucknow nourish Udru verses, song, poetry, as well as the Kathak school of courtly dances. OUr tour includes the hughe doomed Shahnajaf Imambara, the 1784 Bara Imambara, the he typical Moghul building Asif Masjid, the gate of Roomi and the very typical bazaar. Evening we take a short flight to Delhi -- the last capital of the Moghuls.

Day 21:
Delhi:
Day tour of Old and New Delhi includes Jama Masjid, Red Fort, India Gate, Parliment Buildings, Birla Mandir, Gandhi memorial and experience the bazaar at Chandni Chowk. Evening is our tupical Mughlai dinner where we bid farewell to the land of the Moghuls.

Day 22:
Delhi/departure:
Today, after having had an interesting experince following the trail of the Great Moghuls, we transfer to the airport for our departure flight.
