A chance to explore a very special region of Turkey by sea kayak, at your own speed, without disturbing the environment - natural hot springs and fascinating islands on Lake Köycegiz, the impressive rock tombs of Caunos, the maze of the Dalyan delta, spectacular cliffs and headlands, and the tranquil forested beauty and beaches of the many islands in Göcek bay.
6 days paddling, 5 nights camping. Previous kayaking experience is an advantage but is not essential.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Meet in the morning in Köycegiz town. (We can pick you up from Dalaman airport the day before if required.) Training session, then paddling on Köycegiz Lake, which is a protected nature reserve. We finish the day at a small bay where we can relax in natural sulphur springs and thermal baths.

Day 2:
We enter the channels of the Dalyan delta where first we visit the special mud baths. Then we paddle past the impressive rock tombs cut into the cliff face, to Turtle Beach, a 6km long stretch of sand, nesting ground of endangered Caretta Caretta (loggerhead)turtles.

Day 3:
Our first day on the open sea. Paddling along the coastline, playing in the waves, visiting a cave, and snorkeling.

Day 4:
Paddling around Cape Kara and along the sandy beach at Sarigerme. Camp in a small bay with a wonderful view of the sunset.

Day 5:
Today we tackle rugged Cape Kurtoglu. Once we reach the other side we explore the sheltered waters and many islands of Göcek Bay. Opportunity for a short hike to explore ancient ruins.

Day 6:
Today we explore more of the bay and islands, before paddling to the marina at Göcek where we end the trip. Return transfer to Dalaman Airport can be arranged if required.
