Your Itinerary
Day 1:
October 5: Depart for Florence.
Day 2:
October 6: Arrive Florence and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. This evening meet your tour manager and fellow travelers at a Welcome Dinner.

Day 3:
October 7: This morning enjoy a city orientation tour of Florence. Complete the tour with a visit to the Boboli Gardens. Built by the Medici family in the 16th century. This afternoon and evening are free to enjoy all that Florence has to offer.

Day 4:
October 8: Depart Florence to visit the area around Lucca. The first stop will be the Villa Reale built by the Orseti family in 1651. Continue to visit Villa Torrigiani where we will drive down a magnificent avenue of mature cypresses. Then we will stroll along the fortifications and take a sightseeing tour including the church of San Michele. Return to Florence for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5:
October 9: Tour the Uffizzi Gallery which contains the world's greatest collection of Florentine Renaissance paintings. The rest of the day is free to enjoy Florence on your own.

Day 6:
October 10: First visit the Ospedale degli Innocenti and the fabulous frescos of San Marco Convent. This afternoon depart for Castle Nipozzano. Tour the extensive Frescobaldi Wine Cellars before enjoying a sumptuous dinner with wonderful wines. The castle is owned by the Frescobaldi family. Return to Florence for an overnignt.

Day 7:
October 11: Leave Florence today and travel to the Relais San Luigi Hotel near the town of Monteriggioni. En route travel through the charming town of Fiesole to Villa Gamberaia. Then go on to the grand Villa Pietra. Owned by New York University, the gardens, orchards and vineyards oce belonged to the late Sir Harold Action. Check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight.

Day 8:
October 12: Depart for a guided tour of Siena. Lunch today is at the private 16th century Villa L'Apparta where you will be joined by the owner. After lunch, enjoy a tour of the gardens.

Day 9:
October 13: Today's treat is a full day at Vicchiomaggio Castle. Originally built in 957, the present structure however goes back to the Renaissance period. Start with a cooking class this morning and learn about Tuscan cooking. For lunch, sample some of the many foods prepared in class. A tour and tasting at the San Jacopo cellar provides and opportunity to enjoy some of the fine Chianti wines produced as well as to learn about olive oil production. Tonight is our Farewell Dinner.

October 14: Depart Florence for home.
