Day 1:
USA/South Africa
South African Airways whisks us away on a non-stop, direct flight to begin our South African journey. Tribal drums, breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife are only some of the adventures that await us.
Day 2:
Johannesburg
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, we will be met by our guides and transferred to our hotel in Sandton. This afternoon is at our leisure to explore this cosmopolitan city of refined charm and vibrancy. Overnight in Johannesburg.

Day 3:
Soweto/Pretoria
After a full, buffet breakfast, we depart on our full day tour of Soweto and Pretoria. The rich culture of Soweto includes attractions such as the Mandela House and Hector Peterson Square. In the city of Pretoria, we take in the Union Buildings, the Voortrekker Monument and Kruger House. We return to our Sandton Hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight in Johannesburg.

Day 4:
Mpumalanga
Our luxury, air conditioned motorcoach leaves Johannesburg for Mpumalanga via the picturesque towns of Witbank, Middelburg, Melspruit, White River and Hazyview. We arrive at Kruger National Park mid-afternoon in time to check into our hotel before a short game drive in the park. Overnight at Kruger Park.

Day 5:
Kruger Park
All aboard our open safari vehicles for a full, exciting day of game-viewing at Kruger National Park. Enjoy your breakfast en route (compliments of our hotel). This game preserve covers a 2,000 plus square kilometer area and is home to more than 140 species of mammals which are all indigenous to the lands of South Africa. Here is your chance to capture the wonderful wildlife in their natural habitats. Lunch is served at one of the park's picnic areas. Don't forget your camera! Overnight at Kruger Park.

Day 6:
Johannesburg/Port Elizabeth
We bid farewell to our animal friends and head back to Johannesburg International Airport. This scenic drive features "God's Window" and Pilgrim's Rest before arrival at the airport this afternoon. We arrive in Port Elizabeth this afternoon where we will be met by our guide and transferred to our hotel. Overnight in Port Elizabeth.

Day 7:
Garden Route/Tsitsikama National Park
We travel west from Port Elizabeth via the famous Garden Route with it's golden beaches, indigenous forests, pretty coastal villages as well as rivers, lakes and mountain hamlets. Our journey takes us to Tsitsikama National Park, the Big Tree and the Garden of Eden before arriving in Knysna this afternoon. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 8:
Oudshoorn/De Rust/Uniondale/Avontuur/Prince Alfred Pass/Cango Caves/Ostrich Farm
This morning we depart on a full day excursion to the picturesque town of Oudshoorn. Here at one of the top ten tourist sites in South Africa, we will visit the world renown Cango Caves. Our day also includes a visit to an Ostrich Farm. Later we continue our trek through De Rust, Uniondale, Avontuur and the spectacular Prince Alfred Pass. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 9:
Swellendam/Grabouw/Cape Town
From Knysna we depart for Cape Town traveling through Mossel Bay where we stop for a visit at the Post Office Tree and the Dias Museum. Afterwards we travel through the town of Swellendam and the apple orchards of Grabouw before our arrival in Cape Town this afternoon. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 10:
Penguin Colony and Kirstenbosch Gardens
Our Cape Point tour begins after breakfast. At the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, we ride the "Flying Dutchman" to the top of South Africa's highest point to witness the meeting of two oceans. From there it's off to the Penguin Colony, then to the beautiful and lush Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Our excursion includes lunch at the Black Marlin Restaurant. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 11:
Cape Vineyards
A full day tour of the Cape Vineyards awaits us after breakfast. Our day includes the magnificent Taal Monument in Parrl, the historic town of Stellenbosch featuring the Village Museum and University. Then, an enjoyable lunch awaits at the Spier Estate. We overnight once again in beautiful Cape Town.

Day 12:
Robben Island
We depart our hotel to the lower cable station at Table Mountain and travel to the top to enjoy panoramic views of Cape Town and its surroundings. Off to the Victoria and Albert Waterfront for a leisurely visit before boarding our ferry to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years. Here depart on a scenic driving tour and with various photographic opportunites. Our last stop on the island is at the prison complex where a former political prisoner will lead us on a guided tour. We depart for Cape Town airport where we bid a fond farewell to friendly and colorful South Africa.
