The full benefit of the mother ship is realized when we venture into the great expanse of isolation in the Central Coast of BC, also called the Great Bear Rain Forest and Discovery Coast. Six day trips.
Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Exploration will be the focus of each expedition with a flexible itinerary. Our extended wilderness adventures are suited to those who desire a unique experience of both adventure and comfort with safety in kayaking, sailing, bear watching, fishing, beachcombing or just relaxing in otherwise inaccessible areas of the British Columbia Coast. Day 2 - On the Mighty Rolano, able to sail, we often find ourselves slipping quietly along the majestic, rugged coastline enroute to our next destination where we launch our kayaks to intimately explore the fjord, coves, beaches, and tidal lagoons, and watch the surrounding sealife and wildlife. You'll also observe native and western history, geography, marine biology and become aware of the environmental issues surrounding this special place on Earth. (B,L,D).
Day 3 - You'll be travelling lightly, sometimes beachcombing on foot, sometimes by Zodiac inflatables, but mostly by Kayak. This variety allows you to really discover this environment in all its splendour. In our travels it is not uncommon to see Gray whales, Orca ("killer") whales, sea lions, elephant seals, dolphins, seals, otters, mink, eagles, herons, murelets, falcons, bears, cougars, deer, and we will visit historic sites along the way. Day 4 - Several decks and viewing areas (try watching dolphins from the bowsprit) and an enclosed on-deck salon-lounge-library allows you to find a place to absorb this very special environment. Even though we offer the comfort and safety of a major mother ship you have the opportunity to camp on the beach nearby if you wish to combine the best of both worlds. (B,L,D).
Day 5 - We emphasize safety and good times with environmental sensitivities. We provide kayaks, Zodiacs, certified sea kayak guides, wilderness first aid attendant, certified master plus delicious West Coast cuisine. (B,L,D).
