This expedition is an exclusive expedition, visiting a Wounan Indian Village. No trekking required and excellent for an adventurous gateaway weekend during your visit to Panama.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
We leave Panama City in the morning to The Darien Province, a 4 hour drive takes us to the town of Santa Fe, where our native guide will be waiting for us. We travel in a small dugout canoe down the Sabana River for about half an hour, until we reach the small village of Bocas de Lara.
Once we reach the community, we gather with the village leader and the elders for a welcome reunion.
After a short dialog we will be accompanied to our hut, so we can we accommodate our personal belongings and then go for a walk in the village.

Day 2:
A day to get acquainted with the Wounan culture and participate in their daily activities such as fishing in the river, catching river shrimps with a net, making their handcrafts, learning their dances, etc.
Take a refreshing bath in a water stream near by and try to communicate with the dozens of children that follow you everywhere, or simply take a rest swinging in your hammock away from all the city noise and stress.
At night, the village will prepare dinner and perform for us their customary dance.

Day 3:
Wake up in the morning to the sound of the rooster. After breakfast, we take our last pictures, buy the last souvenirs and say farewell to our new friends. Just before noon, we jump to the small canoe and back to Panama City.
