We overnight in an Oudtshoorn hotel. The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel by 8:00am. We travel on Route 62 (South Africa's equivalent of the famous Route 66 in America) to the pretty village of Barrydale in time for a tea stop at the Country Pumpkin Restaurant. Afterwards we continue onto Oudtshoorn, known as the ‘Feather Capital’ of the world thanks to its ostrich industry. This will “tickle your fancy.” After a tour of an ostrich farm, we go underground to marvel at the icy formations in the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa's most spectacular natural wonders. Queens Hotel.

We drive via the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to the town of George, where we then continue onto Knysna in the best possible way - on board the nostalgic steam train, the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe.* Upon arrival in Knysna we continue to the popular seaside resort of Plettenberg Bay, playground of South Africa's rich and famous, in time for lunch (own account). Today take a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, and visit the famous Featherbed Nature Reserve. Take time to admire the stunning view of The Heads, two majestic rock cliffs at the lagoon’s entrance to the Indian Ocean, and take the opportunity to taste the local oysters. After lunch the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this lovely and special town. Knysna Log Inn. Includes: (B), (L).
