This program starts out from the forests of Almarasan gorge and then follows across the wide valley of Chong Keming, where we cross over Aksu Pass (4052 m). On the descent we'll see Kyrghyz nomads living on the sides of Chong Aksu river, where a vehicle will pick us up and drive to the shore of Issyk Kul Lake. After a lunch in picnic style we'll then drive to the Karkara Base Camp. The next day our adventure continues with a dramatic helicopter flight to the South Inylchek glacier where we'll spend three unforgettable days walking to the foothills of Khan-Tengri (7010 m) and Pobedy (7439 m). Our way back home will start with a 35 minutes helicopter flight back to the Karkara Base Camp. After a short break there, the panoramic views of the semi-deserts around Charyn Canyon will await us on our drive back to Almaty. There we have one day of leisure to visit a museum, bazaar and shops. Our adventure will be concluded with a goodbye-dinner in traditional style on the last
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive Almaty. Transfer to hotel.
City tour (including): Visit to the National State Museum, Musical Folk Instruments Museum including folk performance, Museum of Arts. Hotel.
Day 2:
Transfer to Almarasan Gorge. Start trekking. Ascent along the forest path - 5 hours. Camp in the forest (2700 m).
Day 3:
Trek along Prokhodnaya River to the foothills of Almaty Pass - 5 hours. Camp on the river bank (3300 m).
Day 4:
Cross over Almaty Pass (3599 m) - 3 hours. Descent to Valley of Chong - Kemin River - 3 hours.
Camp on the bank of the Tuyuk-Almaty River (2820 m).
Day 5:
Trek along Chong-Kemin River Valley to the junction of Aksu and Zhasyk-Kol Rivers - 6 hours. Camp (2995 m).
Day 6:
Trek to Jasyl-Kol lake(2970 m) and continue trekking to junction of Western and Eastern Aksu Rivers - 5 hours. Camp (3200 m).
Day 7:
Early morning trek along the Aksu Glacier - 3 hours. Cross over the Aksu Pass (4052 m) - 2 hours.
Descent to Chong Aksu - 2 hours. Camp (3350 m).
Day 8:
Cuntinue to descent - 5 hours. Meeting with nomads. Camp in the forest meadow (2600 m).
Day 9:
In the morning take a vehicle and drive to Issyk-Kul lake (1608 m) - 2 hours. Picnic and swimming - 2 hours. Drive to Karkara Base Camp (180 km) - 3 hours. Accomodation in BC (2200 m).
Day 10:
Helicopter flight to South Inylchek Glacier Base Camp - 45 min. Accomodation in BC (4000 m). Hiking in the surroundings.
Day 11:
Hiking to the foothills of Khan Tengri Peak (7010 m) - 5 hours. BC.
Day 12:
Hiking to the foothills of Pobeda Peak (7439 m) - 5 hours. BC.
Day 13:
Fly back to Karkara. Rest.
Day 14:
Drive to Charyn Canyon - 3 hours. Sightseeing of the Big Red Canyon. Drive to Almaty (210 km) - 3 hours. Accomodation in hotel. Shopping. Drive to Shiberaul Village (Artisan Village). Dinner at the yurt-restaurant in national style. Hotel.
Day 15:
Tranfer to airport. Fly home.
