Sample the spirit of adventure that defines the Alaskan experience.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Eklutna Lake - Matanuska Valley

Starting in Anchorage, we begin our adventure with a scenic bike ride along the shores of turquoise colored Eklutna Lake, followed by a shuttle to our secluded getaway in the Matanuska River Valley. (D).

Days 2-3: Kennicott - Wrangell St. Elias

Take a scenic flight to Kennicott, set in the heart of Wrangell-St. Elias, the largest national park in the United States. Explore the ghost town of Kennicott, site of our cozy lodge. Explore massive Root Glacier, coming face-to-face with a stark, ice age landscape. Looking for more adventure? Choose a hike to the historic Bonanza Mine which features glaciers, waterfalls, and ruins. Or take a glacier hike or learn to ice climb! (B/L/D).

Days 4-5: Valdez - Prince William Sound

We transfer along the unbelievably dramatic Richardson Highway to Valdez, "Alaska's Little Switzerland." After an awesome rafting excursion along the Tsaina River, we sea kayak the well-protected fjords and glaciers of Prince William Sound, one of Alaska's great natural preserves. (B/L/D).

Day 6: Girdwood

Take an unforgettable ferry ride across Prince William Sound where orca whales, sea otters, and harbor seals cavort among floating icebergs. End the day exploring Byron Glacier or Winner Creek Gorge with an exciting hand-tram across the gorge. (B/L).
