The Japan Alps are one of the country's best kept secrets. Soaring peaks rise up on all sides as we visit the Kamikochi national park, a truly stunning natural haven, and the ancient castle town of Matsumoto. Both are an amazing contrast to Osaka and the Kansai region where this tour begins. Osaka is brash and bold, buzzing with energy, whereas Kyoto and Nara are a link to Japan's imperial past. We'll finish up with two nights in Japan's action-packed capital, Tokyo.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive in Osaka; express train to our hotel in the heart of downtown Osaka. Complimentary first night's meal (and drinks!).

Day trip to Nara - feed the deer and see the biggest Buddha in Japan!

A day and a night in Kyoto - we'll be staying in a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) convenient for all the sights. The Golden Pavilion is one of the many attractions.

A night at a Ryokan in Mastumoto and plenty of time to explore this fascinating castle town.

An incredible journey through the mountains to Kamikochi. We'll be staying in wood cabins in the heart of the Japan Alps - relax surrounded by breathtaking views.

More time in the mountains - Hiking and a hot-spring bath? Relax and watch the wild monkeys? You decide!
