Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive in Tokyo; transfer to our hotel in Ueno - the heart of old-town Tokyo. Complimentary first night's meal (and drinks!).

Day 2:
A full day in Tokyo, boat cruise included. Check out Sensoji Temple and Japan's National museums then move on to Roppongi's bright lights.

Day 3:
Express train to Kamakura, where we'll stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan (inn). Plenty of time to see the big Buddha and, if the weather is nice, explore some of the beautiful coastline.

Day 4:
Mt. Fuji and Hakone - take on the mountain if you wish!

Day 5:
Second night in Hakone where we'll be staying a hot-spring spa resort.

Day 6:
"Bullet" train to Osaka - be prepared for Japan's best food, drink and nightlife.

Day 7:
Day trip to Nara - home of many deer and a very large statue of Buddha.

Day 8:
Day and night in Kyoto - full of temples and shrines, a living monument to Japan's unique cultural history.

Day 9:
A night at a ryokan in the castle town of Matsumoto.

Day 10:
An incredible journey through the Japan Alps to Kamikochi national park. We'll be staying in wood cabins surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.

Day 11:
A second night in Kamikochi - Hiking and a hot spring bath? Relax and watch the wild monkeys? You decide!

Return to Tokyo - more time for shopping and sightseeing.

Day 13:
Full day in Tokyo - free to enjoy as you please. Perhaps take a day trip to Nikko.
