5 days of the finest wining and dining with a renown local chef. Learn the recipes and secret tips of Bordeaux cuisine, and discover how to marry those culinary delights with fantastic Bordeaux wines.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Upon arrival in Bordeaux (St. Jean Train Station/Merignac Airport), you will be driven to Chateau Meyre, where a welcome lunch will be served. After lunch, you will leave for a tour of the Medoc vineyards where you値l be invited to visit the prestigious chateau Mouton Rothschild or another famous classified estate. A tasting of the wines will be available after the visit. To kick off this gastronomic adventure, we値l take you to one of the best local restaurants for dinner. (B) (L) (D)
Day 2: After breakfast, without leaving the grounds, meet the chef who will guide you through the secrets of French Cuisine during your cooking sessions. The theme for this first session will show you different ways of preparing fish and seafood. During the hands-on demonstration, the chef will speak about the best wines to accompany the recipes. Lunch with the chef on the premises will follow. After lunch, you値l leave for a tour of the Arcachon Bay, where you値l board a boat to explore the famous oyster beds of the area. Before heading back to Chateau Meyre, you'll enjoy a seafood dinner in one of the fishing village along the bay. (B) (L) (D)
Day 3: In the morning, departure to Saint Emilion for a guided tour of this stunning medieval village surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see. The owner of Chateau Soutard will take you on an unusual visit of his estate, followed by a tasting of their vintages. Lunch at the elegant "Hostellerie de Plaisance", overlooking the village. The early afternoon can be spent looking for the perfect souvenir in the large choice of picturesque boutiques. You'll then head off to Bordeaux for more sightseeing in the ancient city. Dinner will take place in one of the most popular dining place in town "La Tupina". (B) (L) (D)
Day 4: The morning session will have you exploring different recipes of poultry and meat, and the most appropriate wines to match the dishes will be explained. After lunch, you値l be granted a well-deserved siesta break before driving to an acclaimed Margaux wine estate for a visit. For your last dinner, we値l take you to a star-Michelin restaurant in the city of Bordeaux for a memorable meal. (B) (L) (D)
Day 5: After a relaxing breakfast, it is time to say good bye and leave for the airport or train station. (B) (L) (D)
