Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Siem Reap / Battambang (L, D)
Pick-up at hotel and transfer to boat pier. Departure by speedboat at 7:00 a.m. Cross the Tonle Sap Lake and reach the Stung Sreng river going down to Battambang. View the wonderful landscape and the daily life along the river during the 4 hours trip. Arrive in Battambang, check-in at hotel and lunch.
In the afternoon, drive along the Sangkei River to reach Wat Ek Phnom Temple (XI c. built by Suryavarman I). Return to Battambang and stop en-route for a visit of the Wat Sla Ket pagoda.
Tour of Battambang to discover this charming town, with its gardens, and numerous colonial buildings.Rest at hotel before dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel.

Day 2:
Battambang (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel and drive to the Phnom Bannon Hill (1 hr drive). Climb the 337 steps (80 m high) to reach the temple (10-min. walk). Visit the Prasat Bannon temple (XII c.) and enjoy the outstanding view over the surrounding plains. Continue then to the natural cave located down the hill. After a 15-m walk through a banana plantation and the forest, reach the cave of the holy water. The "Kouhea Preah Toeuk" still hosts some Buddha statues brought by locals in this immense natural room. Return to Battambang for lunch at hotel. In the afternoon, drive to Wat Toul Baset (13 km from Battambang). Visit the temple (XI c. Suryavarman I) largely covered by vegetation and almost completely ruined.
Return to Battambang and visit of the museum that hosts some interesting pieces such as some carved lintels coming from the surrounding temples, and some stone or wooden Buddha statues.
Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.

Battambang / Siem Reap (B)
Breakfast at hotel and departure to Siem Reap by regular speedboat at 7:00 a.m. Arrival around 11:30 and transfer to hotel in Siem Reap
