Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Ayers Rock (Flights into Ayers Rock prior to 1.00pm). On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be met and transferred to Sails in the Desert Hotel. This afternoon join your Guide for a tour of the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and a guided walk into Mutitjulu Waterhole. Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. View sunset over Uluru and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.
As an alternative you can relax at your hotel in the afternoon until about 45 minutes before sunset to join the award winning"Sounds of Silence Dinner". Dine under a million stars.Sip on a cool drink with the sound of a lone didgeridoo filling the air. Marvel at the play of colours as the sun slowly sets over Ayers Rock and The Olgas.
Dine on a gourmet barbeque of Australian delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines, then sit back and take in the mystery of the desert at night as an astronomer takes you on a tour of the clear Southern night skies (conditions permitting). Return transfers to the hotel included.
Day 2:
This morning enjoy sunrise over Ayers Rock(tea and coffee included). Travel out to the Olgas (Kata Tjuta for a guided walk through it's spectacular domes. The trail leads through to a lookout point with spectacular views deep into the Valley of the Winds. In the afternoon travel to Kings Canyon Resort..
Day 3:
This morning join your Guide for the rocky climb to the rim of magnificent Kings Canyon (for the energetic, sturdy footwear required). Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn Canyon floor, an easier, shady walk. There is time to purchase lunch at Kings Canyon Resort (own expense) before traveling to Alice Springs, arriving around 7.00pm.
