The Basilica of Begoņa is a basilica in Bilbao, Spain dedicated to the patron saint of Bizkaia, the Virgin Begoņa. It is a is a historical landmark of the city, being a symbol of reverence for all Basques. It was built in gothic traces by Sancho Martínez de Arego where the Virgin appeared to local people in the early 16 th century. In the high altar's Neoclassical altarpiece, there is the Virgin's Chamber. The faįade was built in Renaissance style, with a big triumphal arch. The belfry was added in the 20 th century
