Brucemore, the Queen Anne Victorian 21-room mansion in Cedar Rapids, Iowa was built in 1884 for meatpacking heiress Caroline Sinclair. But its most colorful years date back to the 1930s and 1940s when owners Margaret and Howard Hall kept three pet lions. Big entertainers, the Halls also added a Tahitian-themed party room. Brucemore is a now property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is open to the public.
