| Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve is a zoological park and reserve outside Kuranda, Queensland, Australia. It was formerly known as the Mareeba Wild Animal Park and had closed and liquidated in 2004 under the previous ownership. The park is now operated by Jenny Jattke who purchased the park and spent over AUD $1 million on its rehabilitation. Along with Terri Irwin's Australia Zoo, Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve is noted in the media as being one of only two large zoos in Australia operated by women. |
