| This cathedral, considered one of the oldest temples of the country, was constructed approximately in 1570. In fact, it constituted of the first manifestations of colonial architecture in Venezuela. It is a great example of the religious constructions of the time being his simplicity and sobriety characteristic of that moment. It is possible to emphasize that in its interior the image of the Virgin of Our Lady of Asuncio`n venerates. At the moment, it constitutes National Historical Monument. |
