| The Cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada is a Romanesque temple that was at its most magnificent in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, dating back to 1158, when its building actually began. It has three naves with a transept, an ambulatory, a triforium and ribbed vaults. The most noteworthy details include its exterior as a whole, the Romanesque apse, the Baroque tower, El Santo doorway, the main altarpiece, the chapels, and the treasures in the sacristy and chapter house. |
