Designed by Max Berg, the famous architect of the International Modern, the monumental Centennial Hall (today's Hala Ludowa - People's Hall) was a pioneering construction: for many years it remained the biggest reinforced concrete structure in the world. The extensive exhibition complex was built in 1913 to commemorate the centennial of the victory over Napoleon in the famous Battle of Leipzig.
