| Located south of the Brandenburg village of Sacrow, Brandenburg, Germany, the Church of the Redeemer - Heilandskirche - lies on shore of the Havel. Because of its position and style, the unusual church, often simply called the Heilandskirche, was built in the Italien-style with a freestanding campanile in 1844. The design was based on drawings by the Romantic on the Throne, Friedrich Wilhelm IV. Ludwig Persius, the Architect of Kings, received the commission for the project. |
