| The DuSable Museum is a colorful exploration of the African-American experience, set alongside the lagoons of Washington Park in Chicago. There are handwritten lyric sheets from MoTown greats, letters and memorabilia of scholar W. E. B. Du Bois and poet Langston Hughes, and a significant African-American art collection. The most moving exhibit is one on slavery - the poignant, disturbing artifacts include rusted shackles used on slave ships. |
