| The Egyptian Museum in Cairo was established by the Egyptian government in 1835. The present museum building was built in 1900, in the neo-classical style by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. The museum exhibited collections exceed 130000 items. The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, should be a priority on the list of things to see when visiting Cairo. It would take at least a week to see all of the museum's contents, but a brief visit can at least give a glimpse into the world's greatest repository of Egyptian artefacts. |
