The El Greco's House and Museum is located in the heart of the Jews Quarter. The house belonged originally to Samuel Leví, treasurer of King Pedro I of Castilla, and Marqués de Villena. El Greco lived in the house for some time but in the beginning of the XX century the remains of the building were pulled down. The museum was inaugurated in 1911 on the initiative of the Marqués de la Vega-Inclán, who recovered the land to house the works of the painter, dispersed around Toledo. This artistic space houses an important collection of works by the Cretan painter, among which you will find Apostolado, San Bernardino, Vista y Plano de Toledo and El Redentor.
