| Endowed and instituted by local physician, Dr. Isaiah Fawkes Everhart, in 1908, Everhart Museum, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, was intended to be a repository of regional animals, many of which Everhart stuffed and mounted himself. As the facility grew, it took on other collections, including those of visual art, folk art, Native American art, decorative goods, Asian art, relics from the ancient world, European art, coal fossils, and a host of other items related to the natural world. |
