 |
|
| The Fish River Canyon is a 161 km long and 27 km wide ravine with a maximum depth of 550 m. The canyon began froming nearly two million years ago from sandstone, shale and lava deposits. The awesome grandeur of the canyon is surpassed only by the Grand Canyon. Viewing points are superbly rewarding at dawn and dusk, when the steep cliffs are awash with colour. |
