Grotte di Frasassi
| |
| Recently discovered in 1971, the Grotte di Frasassi are the largest known caves in Europe. Seeming to drip with eerie million-year-old stalactites, the caves consist of five chambers, some as tall as 200 m. An easy, 1.5 km long trail winds through the underground rooms, or book a guide in advance to spelunk over chasms and through tunnels far less explored. |
