Gwrych Castle is a Grade 1 listed 19th century mock castle near Abergele in North Wales. The actual castle at Gwrych was begun in 1819. In 1946 the castle was sold and then it passed through subsequent owners and in the last years the building was frequently vandalized. The newly-formed Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust succeeded in ensuring the castle's future and the actual project involves its transformation into a hotel.
