Hama-rikyu is a public park of Tokyo located at the mouth of the Sumida River in Chuo Ward. It is called Hama-Rikyu for short and cherished by all citizens. The park is a landscaped garden in the go-round style around the Shioiri Pond, a pond of the tidal reach. It was remodeled as a public garden park on the site of a villa of the Shogun Tokugawa family in the 17th century.
