| Hawk Mountain, located in central-eastern Pennsylvania, has the mission to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research and education facility. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary provides a high quality, year-round nature experience to an annual 75,000 visitors. An eight-mile trail system provides access to Appalachian forestlands and connects to the 2,000-mile long Appalachian Trail. The Sanctuary trails introduce students, groups and visitors to the geology, flora and fauna of the Appalachian Mountains. |
