The Hungarian State Opera House is one of the most splendid examples of Neorenaissance architecture. Built by Miklós Ybl from 1875 to 1884, it is a richly-decorated building and is considered one of his masterpieces. It is a Neorenaissaince building, with elements of Baroque, beautifully ornamented with paintings and sculptures by Bertalan Székely, Mór Than and Károly Lotz. It is counted amongst the most beautiful opera houses in the world.
