| The Kabul Zoo is in Kabul, Afghanistan on the bank of the Kabul River. The zoo was inaugurated in 1967 with a focus on Afghan fauna. The zoo was very popular with visitors and press. In 1972 the number of visitors was more than 150,000. n total the zoo has 116 animals and a staff of 60 to care for them. Conditions are poor but it is a popular place for Kabulis and up to 3000 people will visit during a week. |
