The Liberec Botanic Garden ranks among the most prestigious gardens in Europe for the richness and diversity of its living collections. Founded as early as in 1876 by the Association of Friends of the Nature, it is famed for its numerous collections of orchids, cactus's, the Alpine rockery, for the almost three centuries old camellia plants, as well as for the unique collection of carnivorous plants. The giant water lily is among the flora attraction here. The exhibitions are opened in five multistory greenhouses that are completed with modern terrariums and aquariums showing a number of rare exotic species.
