| In 1954, the Historical Society opened the Liechtenstein National Museum on the upper floor of what was then the new building of the Landesbank. In 1972, the museum moved into the renovated former Princely tavern. In the same year, the State established a foundation under public law to be responsible for the National Museum. The responsibilities of the National Museum include the collection, preservation, documentation, and research of cultural and natural historical objects with relevance to Liechtenstein history and social studies. |
